New York Fashion Week: Charlotte Ronson Spring/Summer 09

What is there to say about the Charlotte Ronson Spring/Summer 09 show? Her very first in Bryant Park? Not much except that it went from fashion show to the Lindsay Lohan (& Samantha Ronson) show very quickly. And I'm being nice since Fashion Week Daily described the event as, simply, "a sh*t show."
While the lesbian couple du jour (hence forth lovingly known as LiRo) cuddled and held hands to the delight of the paparazzi Charlotte showed sheer calf sock paired with wedges, the usual denim, and lots of stripes.
Impressed? Yeah. Me neither.
But, as always, love Lindsay Lohan. She fills out that Charlotte Ronson SS 09 dress just a bit better than the model who wore it on the runway!

New York Fashion Week: ADAM by Adam Lippes Spring/Summer 09!

I was really excited to see what Adam Lippes's was offering up for spring because I'll be meeting him at his trunk show that Dress is hosting on October 1st. (If you'd like to attend it's from 5-8!)
From the beautiful colors to the Rasta inspired hats I was not disappointed! Prints appeared to be painstakingly hand screened and yellow brightened up nearly every look. Not surprisingly Adam said he had been particularly inspired by MOMA's Color Chart exhibit. Besides the yellow, blue and hot pinks as well as chunky Lucite beads added a dimension to the collection that could only be described as "groovy".
I'll have to majorly tone up if I want even a chance of looking good in these looks--sheer and short is officially the name of the spring 09 game.

Don't forget! Adam Lippes Trunk Show at Dress on Newbury St 10.01.09 from 5-8 pm!

New York Fashion Week: Erin Fetherston Spring/Summer 09

I hate to say it but I was pretty disappointed in Erin Fetherston's showing. Normally ethereal princess wear is what my dreams are made of but Erin's head was in the clouds...literally. It started with a colorful cloud print...

<span class=
<span class=

and then proceeded to to shroud emaciated girls in marshmallows and fluff...

Maybe I just feel as though the world is in a darker place or maybe I'm personally in a darker place and I can't fit dreamy clouds into my view of the world right now. Still, the world needs some light and bright in moderation and when Fetherston used her inspiration less literally her dreamy confections shined.

New York Fashion Week: Yigal Azrouel Spring/Summer 09

Yigal Azrouel perfected the layered, draping look this season. From skinny capri pants to ethnic printed caftans and dresses the casual, comfortable girl reigned supreme on Azrouel's runway.
Silk evening dresses were worn with sheer long t-shirts, distressed leathers wrapped around bodies as mini dresses, vests, and jackets. Pants were paper thin in numerous fabrics and ranged from loose and baggy to skin tight.
Yigal's aesthetic is relatable and the clothes were most of all wearable. Any piece could be easily incorporated into any wardrobe.

New York Fashion Week: Jenni Kayne Spring/Summer 2009

Jenni Kayne couldn't attend her own presentation in New York yesterday because she's 9 months pregnant so it makes sense that her collection was all about an effortlessly chic young mother with a taste for California trends and easy draping.
The former Olsen babysitter matched glamorous fabrics and styles with denim for surprisingly fresh takes on day time like with her denim men's style top with a gold mini. Colors were mostly muted and neutral with splashes of yellow or blue strategically placed to pop. Belts were omnipresent casually cinching waists and turning the simple into Nicole Richie worthy outfits.

It Girl Alice Dellal Hosting Alexander Wang's After Party

Another London It-Girl is descending upon New York fashion week. Alexander Wang is flying in model spawn Alice Dellal to host his after party. She's a little vulgar and probably a flash in the pan but her style is pretty spot on with whats going on with the party scene at the moment. With her partially shaved head, eclectic style and on again-off again affair with Monaco's Pierre Casiraghi this won't be the last we hear of her. Hopefully she'll be causing drama of Lohan proportions all week!

A Model/Celebrity Moment: Daisy Lowe At The GQ Awards

Daisy Lowe, the 19-year-old daughter of Gavin Rossdale and Pearl Lowe, looked stunning in a slashed Giles dress at the GQ Men of the Year awards in London on Tuesday night. I love how it wrapped her curves and her messy hair goes along with her model-rock'n'roll lifestyle. It's beautiful with an edge just like her. She was there with her 32-year-old boyfriend, Mark Ronson, who won the Alfred Dunhill Maverick award. They are definitely London's It-Couple right now. It'll be interesting to see whether they show up in New York in the next few days for Fashion Week!

A Model Moment: Sasha P's Show Card

Sasha P looking PERFECT for her IMG show card!
She is surprisingly short. Well, for a model.

Models make me so happy. They just do.

You Know You Love Me...

I hope everyone had a great long weekend!
Last night was the return of the most fashionable show, Gossip Girl, and of course the most amazing fashion belonged to my personal fashion icon, Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester.)
And Blair didn't disappoint...
Marc Jacobs? Check.
Amazing headbands for every outfit (and every event)? Check!
<span class=
Ferragamo bag and LV luggage? Check!
But most importantly...
THAT VINTAGE STYLE PRINT ONE PIECE! Isn't it beautiful? I am obsessed.
Who else wants to swap places (or at least wardrobe and bank account) with Blair Waldorf?

Teddy Lagerfeld

My Karl Lagerfeld obsession only continues to grow. He's just teamed up with Neiman Marcus to create a limited edition Karl Lagerfeld teddy bear
It just might be the best thing ever.
Kaiser Karl hilariously told W magazine,
"Nothing scares me more than people with some doll collection. Frightening...(But) Bears are very nice, as long as you are nice to them…Maybe I had one; I don’t remember. I never played with anything like toys. I wanted to be grown-up."
Want to get your paws on the adorable fashion bear? Well, like the master himself, he doesn't come cheap--he's selling for $1500!
He's sweet but I'll have to go to Build-A-Bear to get a Teddy Lagerfeld of my own!
