Bostonista Updates...

Hi my lovely readers! I just wanted to find out what you all think of Bostonista's new look? How is Camilla Belle for a header star? What do you think of the purple background? Do you like my Pre-Fall Runway reviews? I'd love to have some more feedback about what you like, what you don't, and what you'd like to see more of! I'm also considering starting a monthly give-a-way...would you guys be interested in that? Any feedback you might have would be just fantastic!
XOXO

Calvin Klein Pre-Fall 09

Francisco Costa may have created the most perfect pre-fall collection for Calvin Klein. The fitting and cuts of the fabrics are the epitome of chic--tapered pants, kimono jackets, and an almost art deco like theme running through out. The mono-chromatic palette was only really broken once with an ill-conceived green dress but still managed to be far from boring.
The proportions allowed for entirely black outfits without a gothic twist thanks to mismatching textures and layers. And the whites were surprisingly wearable unlike many previous CK whites.
Here are some of my favorite looks...

Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 09

I wasn't sure how I felt about Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall when I first looked at it. Sheer knee highs? Shiny red and green leathers? Not exactly my idea of classic chic. But when I went back and really looked over a lot of the looks I found simple and classic among the mix.
I really loved the little belted sweaters and the gray tweeds. The skirts seemed complicated without being confusing and could be easily dressed up or down. And of course Oscar is king of the pretty little cocktail dress and there were plenty to drool over. Did I feel inspired? No. But sometimes clothes just need to be pretty and wearable and Oscar certainly achieved that goal.
