New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 09 Is Under Way!

Well the parties are anyway! Last night MAC celebrated it's much hyped collaboration with Hello Kitty with a launch party in NYC. The party featured Hello Kitty inspired frocks by hot designers like Marchesa and Zac Posen to be auctioned off to be benefit the Fashion Institute of Technology's muesem. My only question- Where was Lady Gaga? This party seems so up her alley. Not surprisingly a lot of the Hello Kitty cosmetic collection has sold out from the MAC website so if you want to emulate any of these cool girls you're going to have to run to the cosmetics counter.

Jenni Kayne Fall 09

Jenni Kayne beat everyone to the fashion week party punch and threw a party at her parents (presumably) palatial Upper East Side home on Wednesday night to present her fall 09 collection. 

Kayne continues to be the under-the-radar go-to for the world's coolest girls with fresh and easy separates for day and night. Kayne mixed eighties inspirations (power suits, leather skirts, and some shots of electric color) with modern shapes and a simple bohemia. But this season she also added luxury to her usual sexy androgyny by way of feathers, fur, and floor skimming lace dresses. 

Also new this season? Jenni showed shoes that will supposedly hit affordable store floors soon.
