Jason Wu is certainly taking advantage of his moment in the sun. He told Fashion Week Daily that he has 90 sales appointments in the coming week alone. He maintained his polished look although there seemed to be a distinct lack of cold weather clothing- interesting in a Fall collection. Still, this was a buyer-friendly collection with plenty to please the crowds that packed themselves into the venue.

Wu told Vogue that he was inspired by a book of fairy tales he loved as a child and there was plenty of romance in the chiffon and lace frocks and impeccable gowns. But what I found most interesting were those pieces that were clearly inspired by and for the first lady. 

A Model Moment: Models at the amfAR Charity Gala

Donna Karan received amfAR's Award of Courage for her work in the fight against AIDS. But the red carpet for the charity gala was dominated by models back in town for Fashion Week. At the start of the season everyone loves a party. We'll see how they feel in five weeks.

Lily D looked so amazing (and perhaps a bit healthier?) in that black and white dress.

I don't think I like Anja's choice of dress. I can't figure out if it is the color or the shape but it just doesn't work for me.

It's weird how Doutzen has the perfect body but on the red carpet standing next to runway girls instead of angels she looks oddly heavy. I know its just the comparison altering my perception but it also makes me wonder how healthy the other girls could possibly be when Doutzen looks fat next to them.
