A Model Moment: Kate Moss at TopShop New York!

I'm sure by now you all know that the first US TopShop is finally open in NYC!
The UK wonder brand's favorite model (and designer) Kate Moss officially opened the store this morning but she also made appearances at the many parties celebrating the store this past week.

The Motherhood

Lily Donaldson has a fantastic editorial in the April 09 issue of Vogue Paris (it has..yuck!...Scarlett Johansson on the cover). I think its a hilarious commentary on the state of modern young motherhood. Also, when else will we ever see Lily D with a belly?!

Ice.Com Review!

The wonderful people over at Ice.Com, a great online jewelry shop, were sweet enough to send me a beautiful pair of rice pearl and pavé diamond earrings! Aren't they lovely? I never buy myself nice jewelry (just super cheap costume pieces occasionally) mostly because I don't tend to wear a lot. But Nadia from Ice.Com discovered my weakness for pearls and I haven't been able to take the earrings off since they arrived!
Ice.Com sells fine jewelry at major reductions from their suggested retail prices making quality jewelry easily affordable. For example, one of my favorite pieces on the site is a 1/8 Ct diamond and 8mm freshwater pearl set in 14k white gold ring valued at $750. It's beautiful and elegant. The Ice price? $375! That is just about 50% off!
They arrived beautifully packaged in a white box with a sweet blue ribbon and the case is a beautiful, sturdy blue velvet box. It was great to have such a pretty package waiting for me when I got home. It really made me smile after a bad day.
I don't wear earrings very often so sometimes when I do I find them irritating or uncomfortable but with these earrings I've been able to wear them for hours, even days, at a time without any kind of discomfort. They're so light that I've forgotten that I've had them on and even fallen asleep while wearing them! It's probably because my poor pierced ears are used to crappy $3 earrings with god-knows-what for posts and now they're like "Ah! Comfort!"
Anyway, thank you so much to Nadia and everyone at Ice.Com for the earrings. I really love them and will definitely be going to Ice.Com in the future when I need (or just want) some new jewelry! If you're looking for something to boost your outfits definitely check out their Spring Style Guide!
In the meantime here are some of my pictures to check out!

A Celebrity Moment: Nicole Richie in BlackBook

I'm not sure why they didn't just get Lady Gaga for the cover of their music issue but...

Marc Jacobs Engaged!

WWD is reporting the very happy news that Marc Jacobs is engaged to Brazilian ad-executive Lorenzo Martone!
Marc is opening a multi-brand store in Sao Paolo this week and the couple is expected to turn up with matching engagement rings at the party!
I wonder what Jason Preston thinks of all this?

Britney in Boston!

I didn't get to go to Britney's show in Boston last night.
It made me want to cry a little bit.
But the amazing (and always stylish) Jeanine Heller had great seats and sweetly sent me photos via her blackberry!
Check them out!

<span class=

We all need some sparkle tights, ya'll! You think I'm mocking her but I'm not. I love Britney. And I love sparkle tights.

<span class=

A few shows ago Britney had a bit of an infamous wardrobe malfunction in a gold, gladiator-esque leotard which has now apparently been replaced by this simple, but just as sexy, black one!

<span class=

Boy don't try to front! Britney will arrest you!

Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 09

I know I'm super late with LV (and that I skipped way too many shows this season!) but here are some of my favorite looks from the show.
I'm too lazy to do a real review.
Sorry.

A Celebrity Moment: MK at The Metropolitan Opera's 125th Anniversary Gala

I know a lot of people are not going to like this look. I've read a lot of vampire cracks. But the thing I like about Mary-Kate is that she isn't afraid of trying new things and she rocks them with confidence even if they don't really work.
She wore her usual red carpet garb-kimono style gown with a cinched waist and lots of jewelry. But the big, styled hair is a huge departure from her usual limp, messy look and the bright red lipstick (while not the best choice with such heavy eye makeup) was a welcome change from the paler than pale nude she normally opts for.
So did it work? Maybe not. But at least she doesn't look like everyone else.

<span class=

MK has been traveling a lot lately. She's back in New York despite just landing at LAX a few days ago in the perfect travel outfit.

<span class=

Chic but comfortable. And I'm obsessed with her carry-on plus I love that she actually keeps and re-wears pieces unlike some spoiled celebs--she's worn that scarf for years and she's barely taken those Stella McCartney heels off in weeks!

A Celebrity Moment: Mila Jovovich at Chanel

Love the actual outfit and how it is styled but I hate it on her. If that makes sense. It's too young and sweet for such a powerful woman and her face...I don't know. Something just doesn't work. What do you think?

Chanel Fall 09

Karl Lagerfeld's Fall 09 collection for Chanel was a love letter to everything that made the line so iconic: suits, bags, and little black dresses. While it wasn't his best work, or anywhere close to being the best Chanel collection, it was light and fun and all about the accessories that probably bring in the majority of the house's revenue.
I didn't like the Lucite bags (I don't need the world seeing what I'm carrying) but they did have specific spaces for all your Chanel goodies (sunglasses, I-pod, lipstick, etc) making it the ultimate piece for all you label whores.
While looks for day were all about over embellishments with chunky knits and some interesting (but in my opinion great) color choices of green and pink to compliment the beautiful jade jewelry that the girls wore in abundance, Uncle Karl kept it discreet with simple, spare black dresses for evening.
Oh and you know I'll be obsessing over the mint green nail polish when it hits stores in a few months.
