You all know I'm addicted to costume masks as a sartorial statement but since its hard to go to work in a feather mask how about a cat mask necklace instead?!
This hand sewn leather and gold chain necklace by Sabrina Dehoff is a little steep at $255 but oh how delicious!

I went to elementary/middle school in Newton and sometimes on the way back and forth we'd pass the legendary Yolanda's in Waltham. The building itself, white, and brick (I seem to remember grecian columns at the entrance) held a certain mystique and I'd always crane my neck to get a glance at the beautiful wedding dresses in the window from my perch in the back seat of my dad's car. If I had known then that a real life Barbie (Yolanda Cellucci) owned and ran the store I probably would have deemed the place heaven.
Yolanda has built a bridal empire in Waltham that included a health club/spa, beauty salon, and of course a gasp-inducing formal wear/bridal selection. Brides were treated to a complete princess experience at Yolanda's while shopping for their gowns as Yolanda believed that they should be! With selections from Reem Acra, Monique L’huillier, and Badgley Mischka it would be hard to not feel special!
Yolanda announced today that she has decided to close her legendary store next month after 41-years of business! The 74-year old is planning on spending more time with family but will continue being one of Boston's most glamorous women!
Unfortunately, I've never had the opportunity to step into those hallowed halls- and now it seems unlikely that I ever will- unless I can convince Mommy Dearest to look at the selection of Mother-of-the-Groom gowns for my brother's upcoming nuptials!
The final sale begins next week with everything in stock at 50-75% off!

Have you heard of the invite-only sample sale website, ideeli? Lots of great brands and designers are using ideeli (and similar sites like gilt group) to provide sample sales to customers outside of NYC and LA. I just scored the pictured Linq silk dress for $49 on ideeli regularly $148! You have to be quick (there is a limited amount of each piece and they are usually only available for less than a day) and invited--lucky for you ideeli has provided a code just for Bostonista readers!
Just go to ideeli and on the main page when it asks for your Invite Code/Password just enter TheBostonista!
Past sales have included BCBG, Vince Camuto, and Cole Haan (starting at 60% off!) plus with just one click you can enter great give-a-ways--how does the infamous Lanvin "It Bag" sound?!

It's Couture week in Paris (yes, Mommy Dearest, again) and that means I'm drooling all over my computer! I'll have more detailed updates soon but right now I can't get over this beautiful grecian style dress from Chanel.

Happy Fourth of July!
I hope you're all having a great day so far!
Enjoy the fireworks tonight and remember to stay safe!
Also, a very happy 11th birthday to one of America's most stylish girls...
First Daughter Malia Obama!!!
Man, I love those girls! And how cute is little Sasha in this picture?!

Style.Com has a cute piece about Coco Rocha raiding their beauty closet. She literally just helped herself to whatever she wanted in the alphabetized, beauty addict's heaven. But who can blame her?! I thought I liked her new dark hair but, in this picture at least, it really washes her out.
Speaking of models hanging out at magazines Teen Vogue welcomed Chanel Iman to their infamous fashion closet. Chanel actually helped out the interns with organizing the closet rather than stocking up on basics.
She's too adorable!

A first look at Keira Knightley's newest ad campaign for Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle!
I like the look of this one much more than her previous shoot for them although I'll always adore the television commercial they shot with it.
Do you think Keira is still a "Chanel" face or should Karl have moved on to another "It" girl this season?
Love the Ella T-Strap sandals by Pour la Victoire but hate the $225 price tag?
It is missing the zipper detailing and doesn't come in a blue but otherwise it almost perfectly recreates the style of the significantly more expensive Pour la Victoires. I think I actually prefer the ASOS version!

It may seem a little weird or morbid but I really love this vial of snake bones necklace from LondonsGate on Etsy.
Yes, those really are tiny snake bones and yes, I really would wear them around my neck.
Hey, at least I wouldn't wear a vial of my husband's blood around my neck like Angelina Jolie!
Teen Voguer Carlos Lopez made a tribute video to all of his friends a few months ago and damn does he have some fabulous friends! Keep your eyes out for Olsens, Trainas, Ronsons, and Nicole Richie! Why isn't my life that glamorous?!

I will definitely be buying Confessions of a Shopaholic on DVD today. It is my favorite "guilty pleasure" movie and was treated really unfairly by critics and audiences when it was released in February. Isla Fisher is adorable and the film ends up having a really nice message. You should rent it for a girl's night in!

My favorite Resort 2010 collection is from Alber Elbaz. I think it is the perfect embodiment of everything a resort collection should be. Colorful, sexy, and travel friendly without being tasteless. I loved that I could picture a specific city and different dances with each different look. They were vibrant, detailed and fun with lots of excellent capsules and accessories that are sure to sell out of stores quickly. As a whole the collection is nothing short of delightful!
How hilarious is that background, btw?!

I ordered these adorable lace up sandals from ModCloth yesterday and I can't wait for them to arrive! I kind of just discovered ModCloth and they have the cutest things for summer at super reasonable prices! My shoes were only $34.99 and just under $40 when I added in the shipping fee! As you know, I have a super limited budget so it was exciting to get a pair of cute shoes that I felt like I could actually afford!
But now that I've looked around the website my budget might not get very far because there are so many things that I want!
(there is also a great bikini version!)
They even have a page of one of a kind vintage pieces! So if you want some cute, inexpensive pieces this summer that you won't see on anyone else I definitely recommend ModCloth.
It's hard for me to resist any collection with a white, lace mini dress. I would get married in one if I didn't think it would give mommy dearest a heart attack.
Phillip Lim told Style.Com that his woman for the 2010 resort season is a "pirate!" But she's more than that too...she's the coolest girl at the music festival and the most stylish woman in the office.
Rolled hem shorts and lingerie elements stood out but the jumpsuit was still present, proving it may be less "trend" and more of a new classic.
I think model Tabea Koebach was the perfect choice for the look book but Tallulah Morton looks a little bit too scary for this particular collection.

I'm sorry that I've neglected you guys! I've had a weird two weeks between lots of issues at my day job and computer problems. First we lost our Internet and I was relaying on my phone--which is great for texting but not so great for blogging or any kind of web stuff at all. And then my laptops hard drive completely crashed. I found out (after a very long and frustrating trip at the Apple store) that the hard drive had failed and I lost everything. I hadn't backed up in like two months and I never back up my music. I don't know if you've ever lost everything off of your computer but it is weirdly emotionally draining.
Anyway, moving on to some house keeping, I've changed my links a little bit. Blogs & Links from the Boston area are now listed under "Boston You're My Home" while the rest of the links are still found under "So This Is Love". If you're one of my links and I've put you in the wrong category please let me know so I can fix it.
I have to send a huge thank you to everyone (especially Mima and Christina) at Ann Taylor Loft who sent me a stunning necklace this past week.
Isn't it just lovely? I really like the double strands and the substantial main stone. Very pretty!
Then the lovely Victoria from TJX sent me a wonderful surprise from both T.J. Maxx & Marshalls! A very sweet silver and crystal necklace from T.J.'s and a beautiful Maurizio Tauiti leather bag from Marshalls!
It's very delicate and just great for an every day necklace!
The Italian leather is so incredibly soft I'm almost afraid to put anything into the bag for fear of stretching it! But it is a great casual summer day bag and I just love the orange lining!
So another huge thank you to Victoria & everyone at TJX for the lovely surprise!
I only have four more days of work left until I'm on summer vacation so I can promise that I'll be much better about updating and keeping in touch from now on!
