Oh Blair Waldorf's headbands!
I could swoon over their excessive, girlie glory for the rest of my life. Even if Little Jenny Humphrey declared headbands banned from Constance Billard's queen bees I have a feeling that the world's chicest women will always have a place for beautiful hair accessories.
Some of the best come from Andrea's Beau- exquisite, high quality, handmade hair accessories that add some sparkle and individuality to every outfit at an affordable price!
Feel like playing Blair?
Try the preppy Laurel Jacquard Bow headband ($26)
try the iridescent Luxe Bow Headband ($34) for evening.
If you prefer wearing your hair up the Flapper Feather Salon clip ($30) will add drama to a simple twist.
You can channel the fairy Titania with crowns of flowers and berries...
like with the Calla Lily Headband ($38)
the whimsical Velvet Wreath Headband ($26)
My favorite piece (next to the stunningly realistic Calla Lily) is the extravagant Wild Rose headband ($78) that I would love to wear when I'm a bridesmaid in October!
Andrea's Beau has been generous enough to create a limited time 20% discount just for Bostonista readers! Just let them know you're a Bostonista reader in the "comments" section of the ordering page!
I'll be using it on the amazing Calla Lily headband...what do you think?

I've been aware of the British TV show Skins for quite a while now but I hadn't watched it until yesterday when I was sucked in to a marathon of the teen drama on BBC America.
I loved it! It's not Gossip Girl but it is far superior to other teen shows plus I found a new muse with character Cassie Ainsworth's style (played, and styled, by Hannah Murray)!
From Victorian-era lace and broaches, sailor vests, and minidresses with layers of thigh highs and tights Cassie has an eccentric sense of style.
How can you add even more drama to a stay in a psychiatric ward? Why with a big straw hat, white Warhol shades, and sheer red lipstick of course!
Serious conversation? A lingerie top with leopard print tights may not seem like the obvious choice but you're sure to have the upper hand.
Need to make a dramatic entrance? When we first met Cassie she was decked out in a gold shift dress with a men's tuxedo jacket complete with long tails- just fabulous!
Pull out all your lace pieces, school boy blazers, ripped jeans, eclectic screen-printed tees, and flapper style headbands and long length gloves, please!
I think we should all just mix some mod with some bohemian just like Cassie only lets try to avoid the self-destructive behavior okay?

"I wish people would stop trying to make Sienna Miller happen."
and that is pretty much how I feel every time I have to read an article about her.
On the other hand I do think she is blond, and pretty, and stylish enough so I don't really mind pictures!

A cute shoe story out of the UK--what would you do if you lost one half of your beloved pair of Louboutins?
Louise Bawn is offering a £50 reward as well as distributed fliers, taken out ads, and gone on TV begging for the return of the lone shoe!
Why doesn't she just go out and buy another pair? Christian Louboutin apparently no longer manufactures the style in the same fabric!
I'm thinking this Cinderella's best bet is to shell out the money for a special customer order at Christian Louboutin Paris.
I'm so excited to announce Bostonista's second give-a-way! I've teamed up with
Chick Downtown! for a give-a-way just for my amazing readers!
The prize? A pair of Current/Elliot The Leggings jeans in black valued at $218!
"The Current Elliott designer clothing line began in 2008 when Emily Current and Merritt Elliott came together and invented their own brand. The line features the ever popular Boyfriend Jean that have the look that the woman just woke up and threw on a pair of her man's jeans. The line has a classic American feel with a modern twist."
So how do you enter?!
Tell me what line of a song inspires you & your style in the comments along with your email address. I'll choose the best answer on July 30th and email the winner (as well as announce it here on thebostonista.com) I'm sorry but this contest is only for US residents. I promise to have one for all of my readers, ASAP!
Chickdowntown.com also has a stellar selection of ABS dresses that every woman needs to check out! Be sure to follow them on Twitter and Facebook for more chances to win great pieces and gift cards!
(Please be aware that if the item is no longer available in the winner's size- she will be able to choose any available item from Current/Elliot)

What is your current obsession?:
definitely purple-diary.com I don't know why I find pictures naughty French strangers so fascinating but I do.
What is your horoscope & do you relate to it?:
Cancer and for the most part very much so! I'm super emotional, I love pearls, I freak out if anyone is critical of my mother, I fall in love very easily and become absolutely for life fiercely devoted to nearly everyone I love even if they are mean to me, my boobs are my best body part, I'm manipulative and insecure, I love kids and I have a roundish baby doll face. These are key traits to Cancers. But unlike most cancers I do not save or earn a lot of money. I spend it like its water.
What are you wearing today?:
well it is bed time so my new la perla pink boxer short bottoms (I got them on clearance for like $14 at the Saks outlet!) and my "vintage t" (from Target) sweet liberty bubble gum- also pink.
What is the last thing you bought?:
missbehave magazine, a backless safari print dress from j crew, and some funky accessories from forever 21.
What do you think about the person who tagged you?:
Erika is the prettiest, most stylish fashion blogger on the planet. Check out her blog Fashion Chalet!
What’s for dinner?:
I had grilled chicken with grilled chopped tomatoes, onions and green peppers plus a baked potato and my current favorite soda diet fresca!
What’s your favorite decade, fashion wise?:
Probably the mid-sixties to mid-seventies. I look at YSL's Le Smoking collection and all that Helmut Newton was doing for French Vogue and that is just IT. You can see the passion and the brilliance in the work. And of course in that time period- Edie & Andy, the whole factory scene, Loulou de la Falaise! And Lagerfeld at Chloe! I just love the mix of androgyny & feminine glamour with all those sadomasochistic subtexts drenched in decadence. So much of It is pure art and such a reflection of life as it is and as it should be! I could faint with all of the emotions those designs and images stir up in in me--I can't imagine living it!
What are your must haves for summer?:
Minidresses, flip-flops, colorful silky hair scarves and always, ALWAYS giant sunnies!
What would you love to be able to afford?:
balenciaga bags, christian louboutins, subscriptions to Paris Vogue & Women's Wear Daily, my own apartment
What is your favorite piece of clothing from your own wardrobe?:
I don't really have a favorite piece. I pretty much dislike everything I own in terms of clothing right now. Not even joking. Probably my DVF wrap dress because I love how it feels. The fabric is just dreamy.
What is your dream job?:
What’s your favorite magazine?:
Vogue, Teen Vogue, Missbehave, Paris Vogue, Fashion Week Daily, Fashion Week Mini, i-D, and British Elle
What do you consider a fashion faux pas?:
Ed Hardy & the entire Christian Audigier family of brands.
Describe your personal style:
The quirky girl next door. Restless and a little bit boring. I honestly don't really have personal style which is sad coming from someone who loves the fashion industry as much as I do.
Which Beatle is your favorite?:
Paul. Obviously. But then Ringo.
What are you proud of?:
My family and my friends especially my mom!

You all know I'm addicted to costume masks as a sartorial statement but since its hard to go to work in a feather mask how about a cat mask necklace instead?!
This hand sewn leather and gold chain necklace by Sabrina Dehoff is a little steep at $255 but oh how delicious!

I went to elementary/middle school in Newton and sometimes on the way back and forth we'd pass the legendary Yolanda's in Waltham. The building itself, white, and brick (I seem to remember grecian columns at the entrance) held a certain mystique and I'd always crane my neck to get a glance at the beautiful wedding dresses in the window from my perch in the back seat of my dad's car. If I had known then that a real life Barbie (Yolanda Cellucci) owned and ran the store I probably would have deemed the place heaven.
Yolanda has built a bridal empire in Waltham that included a health club/spa, beauty salon, and of course a gasp-inducing formal wear/bridal selection. Brides were treated to a complete princess experience at Yolanda's while shopping for their gowns as Yolanda believed that they should be! With selections from Reem Acra, Monique L’huillier, and Badgley Mischka it would be hard to not feel special!
Yolanda announced today that she has decided to close her legendary store next month after 41-years of business! The 74-year old is planning on spending more time with family but will continue being one of Boston's most glamorous women!
Unfortunately, I've never had the opportunity to step into those hallowed halls- and now it seems unlikely that I ever will- unless I can convince Mommy Dearest to look at the selection of Mother-of-the-Groom gowns for my brother's upcoming nuptials!
The final sale begins next week with everything in stock at 50-75% off!
