Alber Elbaz is one of my favorite designers but sometimes he can repeat himself.
It seems as though he's found his stride at Lanvin and now isn't willing to change the formula.
But that isn't a bad thing- the collection was precise, modest and beautiful- what more can you ask for?
"Marc Jacobs' spring/summer 2010 collection for the French house will be shown live on its Facebook page on Wednesday at 2.30 pm Paris time. Watchers will be able to comment live on the collection as it happens - a format that was successful at Burberry - and will also be able to watch the collection film on demand for 24 hours."

I'm not a huge Balmain fan...I've often felt that it belongs in the overrated category.
This season there was a lot of SEX and gold lame to try to get past. There was nothing subtle about this collection.
But if you could get past the in your face sex you could find the interesting pieces. Except that the interesting pieces were all looks that they had shown before except with a slightly more deconstructed, post-apocalyptic feel.
I'm not sure how I feel about this collection yet. I think I need time for it to set in. But I do ADORE the hoods. I love hoods but they are hard to wear in a non-sloppy sweatshirt way but this accomplishes a sleek hood so much love!
I felt that much of the collection was a study in color- and the craftsmanship is just phenomenal!
Lots of beautiful black and white geometric shapes at Rick Owens! The metallic trash bag dresses are lovely too!
The only problem I had was the long, loin cloth feature that marred some looks.
I really loved the accessories especially the boots even though they reminded me of his boots from past seasons.

Do you love the Elizabeth & James jewelry line by Robert Lee Morris but can't afford it? Me too! But here is a secret- while Robert Lee Morris does design the E&J jewelry line with the Olsens he also does a "low" end line for...QVC! Yes, the shop at home television station that your grandma loves!
While the lines have two distinct looks some of the styles tend to overlap which means you can get the E&J style without the E&J price.
For example the Elizabeth & James Freeform Dish ring in brass is $175 (you can find it in silver for $225)
It doesn't have the same vintage "hammered" feeling but it recreates the shape and "bowl" look.
Another big theme in the E&J collection for fall is snakes...
The E&J snake ring is $155 with a clearly defined head and antique look
while the RLM Studio River Ring doesn't have a head but the design is otherwise the same in a glossy silver for only $50.45
Are they exact replicas? No. But I'm a big believer that costume jewelry shouldn't cost a lot especially when they're "trendy" pieces. And when the same designer is doing similar looks at a lower price point its hard not to look into it.

Suri cruise looked adorable walking down Newbury St yesterday afternoon!
She must have been in a Babar mood as she and her stuffed friend, Queen Celeste, wore matching pink shirts and her frilly layered skirt featured a Babar print!
As for accessories silver peep toe heels and a silver clam shell purse completed her look!
I've walked Newbury St in heels and it isn't comfortable! But maybe if I had started training at age four it wouldn't be so bad!
Mom Katie Holmes was also there, looking every inch the young Back Bay mother, don't you think?
