My absolute favorite look of the night had to be Rihanna in Elie Saab!
I was surprised by how much I loved this dress because I usually hate her style choices!
I love that it covered her all up to the neck but then she turned around and there was just an elegant flash of skin:
Of course I adored all of Gaga's insane choices by Armani and the McQueen body suit that covered even her skull (her wig was sewn on!)
I thought she looked like a child's idea of what a fallen star would look like once she landed on earth!
Some may be mourning the age of couture with the closing of Christian Lacroix but I refuse to lose hope in my favorite art!
Unfortunately, with hope comes disappointment.
But lets talk about the good!
Karlie Kloss ruled the runway!:
The bride at Alexis Mabille:
The colors and unexpected mini dresses at Valentino:
This look at Givenchy:
And this one from Jean Paul Gaultier:
Elie Saab usually plays it safe and continued to do so but once I got past the shimmer and red carpet cliches the lace was a frothy dream:
I only liked one piece at Dior but it is spectacular! I suddenly LIVE for yellow:
What did you think of the first post-Lacroix couture week? Disappointments? Highlights?

Take a long lunch tomorrow and hit Sephora at the Prudential Center!
Fresh co-founder Lev Glazman will be on hand from 11-6 customizing skin care routines as well as designing a one-of-a-kind fragrance!
Fresh started here in Boston and uses high-end natural ingredients to create their fabulous products. I'm a HUGE fan of their Lotus Eye Gel- I use it every morning to de-puff and add a certain glow. Besides, it smells amazing!

I'm not sure why I still get excited about award show red carpets. They always end up disappointing and boring me...plus, two hours of Ryan Seacrest? Ugh.
The Golden Globe fashion can be summed up in three words this years: purple, black and boring.
But Chloe Sevigny (who won for her role on Big Love!) and Diane Kruger can always be counted on to be fashionable and interesting!

Chloe's Valentino dress looked breathtaking on television. It may be a dress you need to see in movement to really understand just how truly magnificent this dress was! Unfortunately, her dress was accidentally ripped by the usher escorting her to the microphone! Don't worry, Chloe had a beautiful dress ready for the after parties!
Diane Kruger never disappoints me. I wish I had a picture of the back to show you because the dress is made that much more spectacular when you see the back detailing. The layers of ruffles around the neckline and the waist cinched and gathered with the white pin? Red carpet perfection. I'm amazed that she has landed on so many worst dressed lists for this! She's on trend (pinks and purples were the colors of the night), she's clearly a fashion "It" girl (supporting the beloved, but now defunct, Christian Lacroix gown) and she just plain looks amazing!
I guess if you prefer your starlets to play it safe or sexy then you wouldn't understand this look but I find it super frustrating that many lists are naming (Princess) Olivia Wilde (in Gucci) and Sandra Bullock (in Bottega Veneta) as the best dressed of the night.

A few years ago Heather Marks career couldn't have been hotter she was getting high fashion runway moments and even walked (and looked stunning) at a Victoria's Secret show.
But, seemingly without warning she basically disappeared.
She didn't take an extended break (as far as I know) she just stopped getting high profile work.
She still got quite a bit of catalogue work and could even be found from time to time on the American Eagle website but her former glory seemed to elude her.
Was it because she looked too much like Stam? Did her party girl reputation get in the way of work? Did she gain some inches? What happened?
I don't know. But what I do know is that she's recently been getting some small editorial work and even landed herself the December 09 cover of Mexican Vogue.
Are we witnessing a rebirth?
(By the way I'm trying out a new way of posting pictures-thumbnails to an HQ link- what do you think? Thanks to Kokobombon at The Fashion Spot for this particular set. It is just a test. If it is successful then I'll try to figure out how to do thumbnail/link sets myself!)
