A Celebrity Moment: Posh Covers German Vogue

German Vogue has a beautiful editorial with the lovely Victoria Beckham.
I'm in love with these photographs!
But what do you guys think of her intense eyebrows?!

I (shockingly) can't read German so I didn't bother with the interview pages but I'm sure they went something like this...
"I get to sleep with David Beckham! I'm a completely normal mom! I love heels so much that I can't even walk in flats! I DO smile just not in paparazzi pictures!"
...because that is how ALL of her interviews go!

Shiseido at Macy's Boston

Shiseido's makeup artist Renato Almedia will be in Boston on Thursday and Friday to celebrate the release of their Spring 2010 collection!
Macy's Boston will be hosting him both days from noon- 7 pm as he meets clients and gives them complimentary Shiseido looks. If you're interested you need to make an appointment by calling 1-617-357-3362.

Renato has worked backstage at numerous New York fashion weeks as well as on fashion shoots so you'll be sure to look like a super model!

While you're at the Shiseido counter be sure to check out their new Sheer Matifying Compact- it is my favorite part of their new collection! The oil-free formula absorbs oil and shine but is sheer so your skin looks clean and natural. I'm always on the search for a better foundation and while I usually steer clear of powders this seems like one product I won't be able to resist trying!

A Model Moment: Karlie Kloss Covers Teen Vogue

Thank God at least ONE American fashion magazine features models on their cover with some consistency!
Karlie Kloss landed her second Teen Vogue cover this month and I just love her cat eyes!
But I'm disappointed in the accompanying editorial- Teen Vogue usually has pretty fresh, fun fashion spreads but this take on smells like teen spirit just smells. Karlie has proved herself as the top Vogue editorial model and could have really shone in an interesting editorial.

And on May 1st the Millennium Bostonian Hotel is hosting the "Ladies Luxury Escape" event. From 11 AM- 7 PM you can enjoy booths from Boston boutiques and spas as well as complimentary appetizers and cocktails. There will also be a relaxation lounge and beauty bar where you can indulge yourself! Tickets are available for $10 or VIP tickets for $30 (VIPs get a swag bag filled with goodies!).

Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2010

The best part of Louis Vuitton this season?
The models!
Marc Jacobs cast mostly real women this season (well, okay, they were still models but they were older and closer to a size four than a zero) to emphasize the curvy silhouette of the clothing.
With all the talk about the fashion industry trying to combat unhealthy lifestyles it is nice to see at least one designer changing their ways- for one season at least.
Who'd expect SI swimsuit cover model Bar Refaeli to be so comfortable on a runway that isn't Victoria's Secret? Even Bar seemed surprised to have actual clothing on!
If you like Mad Men, glamour and the female body you'll like this collection.

Paris Fashion Week-Fall/Winter 2010: The Best of the Rest...

Here are the looks I liked from some of the other Paris Fashion Week shows...

<span class=
<span class=
<span class=
Jean Paul Gaultier's haute gypsy collection has given me an excuse to those neon colored AA have been too shy to wear out of the house!

<span class=
<span class= <span class=
Nina Ricci hasn't been the same since the departure of Olivier Theyskens but Peter Copping may have begun to come into his own this season with his romantic, feminine collection.

<span class=
<span class=
Like YSL the Rick Owens collection had surreal nuns but rather than cloistered and passive they were powerful and in possession of their aggressive sexuality. Looking past the usual Gothic styling the pieces can be worn and loved by any woman- the leather jackets with skinny jeans or girlie cocktail dresses, the dresses without the tights and leather and fur can be traditionally sexy for a date and the skirts and tops can easily be turned professional for the office.

Dior Fall/Winter 2010

For the past couple of seasons I've felt that John Galliano's collections for Dior were too literal in their influences especially for ready-to-wear. They were repetitive and so much less inspiring than his past shows.
But just as I thought he had lost his touch he turns out a simply beautiful collection! Yes it rehashes his obsession with British equestrienne life but for all the leather and jodhpurs there was interesting knitwear pieces, and tiny chiffon pieces that would be just as beautiful on a date in Manhattan as they would as a formal dinner for 12 at your country estate. My favorite pieces were the most lingerie inspired and, of course, I always have a weakness for thigh highs so there was plenty to covet!
