I thought I would be hugely disappointed by Golden Globe fashion last night but surprisingly I didn't think it was all that disastrous.
I have a couple of obvious best dressed choices and a couple that I know ended up on other worst dressed lists but hey I liked them!
Anne Hathaway was her usual radiant self in Armani Prive.
I know she completely relies on Rachel Zoe so it isn't technically "personal" style but she always looks so beautiful and so perfect for every event I can't help but adore her style!
Long sleeves, strong shoulders, backless- she followed every trend and still managed to be the best dressed of the night!
I know this will be a controversial choice. OK! Julianne didn't really pull it off but at least she had the courage to try! The half-necklace collar, the draping, the waist, the shocking pink color it is a BEAUTIFUL dress. I think part of the problem is not being able to see it in motion because when I saw her on the red carpet it moved and flowed BEAUTIFULLY! I just wish someone had steamed it beforehand- what is with all of those crazy wrinkles?!
Kind of obsessed with this Calvin Klein on Claire Danes. Simple, elegant, sexy- what more could you ask for? I love the wonder woman-esque cuff since it adds a bit of a tougher personality to the look!
OK I know it might be a little too obviously sexy. But just the construction alone of this dress is mind boggling since even the, er, bodice, portion was made entirely of weaved fringe. I appreciate a well made dress. Plus, if I had January Jones' body I'd wear it too!
I thought she looked like a true bombshell in this Versace.
If you've got it sometimes its okay to flaunt it.
14-year-old Hailee Steinfeld looked age-appropriate and stylish rather than living out a prom princess fantasy like some girls *ahem* Carrie Underwood and Lea Michelle!
How many tweens do you know would choose the under the radar but super cool Prabel Gurung for their first big Hollywood night? I hope this is the first of many big red carpet moments for Hailee because I can't wait to see her style evolve!
And finally my personal favorite of the evening...
Leighton Meester in Louis Vuitton!
I don't understand why so many people hated this look so much! I thought she looked beautiful! The fabric is amazing but I especially adored the sheer sleeves and the subtle print! I don't care what anyone else says- it was FABULOUS!

I'm not usually a huge Celine fan- even though I like Phoebe Philo- but something about this collection really speaks to me right now.
While I'm never a fan of iridescent pants- seriously, why even attempt something so heinous?- the mere construction of the pieces is enough to make me swoon.
Philo has a knack for beautiful tailoring and infusing even the most boyish of looks with playful femininity.
Maybe its because of how stalled I've felt lately but there is something about this wearable collection that feels so grown up and right the moment.
My favorite piece of the whole collection?
The silky, slouchy black jumpsuit that Phoebe herself wore last month when she picked up the British Fashion Council award for Designer of the Year.
Brittany Snow proved winter white works the other night at Audi's pre-Golden Globes party.
The best part? She's wearing a super affordable dress by French Connection!
The beautifully-draped dress with heavily embellished shoulders is on sale at French Connection- and can be yours for only $125!
I love how Brittany styled it- little to no jewelry, nude platforms, and a simple chignon! The whole look was just effortless!
Her other accessory? Zac Effron. It seemed like they were on a date but weren't they spotted just the other night with his ex Vanessa Hudgens? Aren't Vanessa and Brittany supposed to be friends? I just found it interesting...

From the moment I saw her whimsical Prada gown at the Oscar's I knew Carey Mulligan was evolving into a style star...with a wink!
While I'm sure Carey is working with a stylist for red carpet events she has a way of wearing pieces that is similar to her screen presence-confident and compelling! We'll be seeing a lot more of Carey in 2011 thanks to a stint on Broadway and a high-profile role as Daisy in Baz Luhrmann's upcoming adaptation of The Great Gatsby!
Even her personal street style- a lot of menswear inspired separates with a pinch of Brit Girl Cool- is so well put together its obvious that she doesn't need much help!
With a lot of skinny jeans, Celine's Classic sunglasses, and that cream colored Prada coat Carey hits a perfect note. She also favors boxy, fitted blazers and sweet flats to polish off her street style.
One of the great things about Carey is that she wears prints, colors, fabrics fearlessly and manages to always look elegant.
So, Carey Mulligan is my number one best dressed of 2010. As Vogue's fashion director, Lucinda Chambers, said, “What a refreshing change on the red carpet to see someone who wears such distinct designers, like Vionnet, Prada and Peter Pilotto, and makes them her own.”
So who were your favorites this year???
For the second year in a row model Dree Hemingway makes my best dressed list!
She really stepped up her modeling game this year- lots of editorials in practically every Vogue in the world, became the face of Ferragamo's Attimo fragrance, walked a few runways and even starred in Valentino's Spring campaign.
From her eclectic red carpet style to her casual chic, off-duty model personal style Dree keeps things interesting.
Who could forget her neon yellow Armani mini dress at amfAR?
Or her own quickly sewn together gray jersey skirt.
But its her personal touches like a colorful belt with an all white suit or unexpectedly delicate jewelry that truly expresses her personality that lands her on my best dressed list for 2010. IMO she always has hands down the best accessories.
