Bostonista's Best Dressed 2010: Carey Mulligan

From the moment I saw her whimsical Prada gown at the Oscar's I knew Carey Mulligan was evolving into a style star...with a wink!

<span class=
While I'm sure Carey is working with a stylist for red carpet events she has a way of wearing pieces that is similar to her screen presence-confident and compelling! We'll be seeing a lot more of Carey in 2011 thanks to a stint on Broadway and a high-profile role as Daisy in Baz Luhrmann's upcoming adaptation of The Great Gatsby!
<span class=
<span class=
Even her personal street style- a lot of menswear inspired separates with a pinch of Brit Girl Cool- is so well put together its obvious that she doesn't need much help!

With a lot of skinny jeans, Celine's Classic sunglasses, and that cream colored Prada coat Carey hits a perfect note. She also favors boxy, fitted blazers and sweet flats to polish off her street style.

One of the great things about Carey is that she wears prints, colors, fabrics fearlessly and manages to always look elegant.

So, Carey Mulligan is my number one best dressed of 2010. As Vogue's fashion director, Lucinda Chambers, said, “What a refreshing change on the red carpet to see someone who wears such distinct designers, like Vionnet, Prada and Peter Pilotto, and makes them her own.”
So who were your favorites this year???

Bostonista's Best Dressed 2010: Dree Hemingway

For the second year in a row model Dree Hemingway makes my best dressed list!
She really stepped up her modeling game this year- lots of editorials in practically every Vogue in the world, became the face of Ferragamo's Attimo fragrance, walked a few runways and even starred in Valentino's Spring campaign.

<span class=
From her eclectic red carpet style to her casual chic, off-duty model personal style Dree keeps things interesting.
Who could forget her neon yellow Armani mini dress at amfAR?
<span class=
Or her own quickly sewn together gray jersey skirt.

But its her personal touches like a colorful belt with an all white suit or unexpectedly delicate jewelry that truly expresses her personality that lands her on my best dressed list for 2010. IMO she always has hands down the best accessories.
