ASOS's Boston Press Preview!

I have a serious weakness for ASOS accessories so when I was invited to preview the ASOS fall and holiday collections at the Ames hotel a few weeks ago I jumped at the chance to attend!

One of the great things about ASOS is that while they carry numerous brands and favorite designers they also have their own affordable, contemporary collection!

Lets start with the selection of drool-worthy accessories they had on display!

Craving Miu Miu on a budget? These glittery ASOS platforms should help you get the style without breaking the bank!

I'm planning on snapping up this amazing lucite necklace immediately!
It looks amazing on AND manages to blend two trends: tribal jewelry and neon! When I was flipping through the ASOS look book later I noticed that they also have bangles in a similar theme. I probably wouldn't wear them together- well maybe if I was feeling daring- but they'd look charming on their own!

Getting in on the school boy satchel trend.
I love that ASOS carries the super popular Cambridge Satchel Company line but also offers their own take on the look! As far as I'm concerned, the more options I have while shopping the better!
But what made me absolutely giddy was their selection of cute clutches.
Future reference: If you ever need to win me over an over sized, embellished or sleek clutch should do the trick!

Now lets move on to the clothing!
I can't get over this leather jacket with the leopard print front panels- I think I've dreamed about it at least three times.
I'm just dying to pair it with this jewel-tone lace dress.
(You probably know by now that I'm really into pairing the tough, almost masculine with ultra-girlie pieces!) By the way, I have a feeling that colored lace is about to be a really big trend so put your whites and blacks away for the winter! (I'd also wear it over that grey tweed dress on the rack behind it. I thought I had a better picture of that dress but I must have deleted it and I can't find it out online! Fashion moves fast people!)

Another favorite piece was this Victorian-esque blouse..

At first I thought it was a sort of jacket due to its voluminous proportions but then the lovely Renata from Scorpion/Disco tried it on and we realized it's just an AMAZING blouse! VERY Miss Havisham! I wish people had Downton Abbey theme screening parties the way that they do with Mad Men because I'd totally rock it to one of those! Maybe I'll host one...ANYWAY...

Isn't the back to die for?!
Thanks again to Renata for being my model!

If you feel like emulating Nicole Richie (and, really, why wouldn't you?) then try out this colorful ikat-print maxi dress.
All you'll need is a stack of bracelets, a side braid and voila! instant boho-chic!

I had such a great time at the event- especially since I finally got to meet so many of my favorite Boston bloggers! It was a stylishly successful afternoon!
(Thanks so much to Austin at Starworks, and the whole ASOS team for having me!)

Fashion's Night Out Boston Round Up!

The countdown to Fashion's Night Out is on and this year Boston is celebrating in a big way!
On Thursday Sept 8th many Boston retailers are participating with parties, sales, giveaways, and more!

With so many events happening you may need to map out a plan of attack to make the most of your night!

Lets start at Copley Place (6 pm) to see their fashion show and then check out the store events happening mall-wide!
Don't forget to head over to Neiman Marcus for karaoke with a live band and lots of other surprises!
Then hit Saks Fifth Avenue for different events on each level of their store- meet up-and-coming designer Yuna Yang at 7:30 on the third floor or hit the second level for a VIP lounge hosted by W Boston!

Remember to check out the other stores at Copley Place/The Shops at the Prudential because many are doing special things to celebrate!

Then head on over to Newbury St., which, for the first time in 15 years, will be closed to traffic so expect a large block party vibe as well as events at individual shops.
Last year I had so much fun at DVF (and bought my favorite shoes!) so I'm looking forward to hitting there and checking out their photo booth! RSVP
Head over to Cynthia Rowley to celebrate the launch of her collaboration with Band-Aid!

Reiss Boston is also hosting a fun event!
Don't forget to check out the Chanel boutique to be one of the first to get your paws on their latest nail polishes from their les jeans de Chanel collection! If you want to shop for a cause Marc by Marc Jacobs  10% of the night's proceeds will go to the Boston Ballet!

In the mood for a lot of luxury?
The Heritage on the Gardens (300 Boylston St.,) shops are all having great events.
Escada will have complimentary champagne to sip while you're browsing, as will St. John who is offering $395 off purchases of $1295!
Hermes will be hosting scarf tying demonstrations so you'll know the most stylish ways to wear your scarves this fall!
Feeling tired from all this shopping? Pop into Exhale Spa for free chair massages in their lobby!

Finally, find your way over to The Liberty Hotel for a post-shopping bash and runway show!

Not in Boston? That's okay!
The Natick Collection is also hosting a big night of shopping events!
Including Tiffany's...

Sponsored Post: Bostonista's Five Favorite Fabulous Bloggers!!

Thanks to Trop50 for sponsoring my writing about fabulous bloggers. This year Trop50 is granting 50 Fabulous Wishes. Click here to enter for a chance to win $1,000 to celebrate a friend with a refreshing attitude about looking and feeling fabulous!

When I was asked to name my five favorite bloggers I thought that it would be impossible! I don't comment often but I read a lot of blogs every day and I'm always amazed by the amount of style and talent out there!
A few daily reads immediately stuck out in my mind thanks to their grace, trend spotting, industry news, and writing.
So, in no specific order, here are my five favorite fabulous bloggers!

&&<span class=
One of the reasons that Erika is so fabulous is that she is full of southern charm! I guarantee that you won't find a sweeter blogger anywhere. She always takes the time to respond to comments no matter how many there are or how busy she may be! Mix that great attitude with killer style and it explains the huge amount of press from magazines and other bloggers. Erika is already a staple at NY Fashion Week and pretty much my blogging role model.

&<span class=
There are a lot of great street style blogs out there and a few get a lot of attention.
But the best one, in my opinion anyway, is Beyond Boston Chic! Martini has a great eye for finding and snapping the most stylish subjects in Boston and around the world on her many travels.

The most talented fashion illustrator out there right now is Belle from I know What You Wore Last Season. Besides her gorgeous artwork Belle posts daily inspiration like magazine photo shoots, lovely collection reviews, and model candids. She also has amazing backstage access at shows like Vena Cava and invites to Chanel with her camera in tow!

Not too many women can balance a big career, motherhood, and blogging let alone do it with style but you'll find Naina does it all gracefully! Naina takes her blog beyond just personal style posts with book and movie reviews, coverage of Boston events, interior design, her adorable daughter and a whole lot of the good things in life.

Audrey Leighton's style goes beyond glamorous; it is downright eccentric.
And that’s why I love her.
I've also really enjoyed following her journey from Durham student in England to a fashion force living in Paris. She is pretty much the definition of a successful fashion blogger with her own online store, multiple collaborations with different brands, and all kinds of international press. I want to take some lessons in blogging from Audrey!

Don't forget to enter the 50 Fabulous Wishes contest for a chance to win $1,000 to celebrate a friend with a refreshing attitude about looking and feeling fabulous. I was selected for this Tropicana Trop50 sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do. I received compensation to use and facilitate my post.

A Celebrity Moment: Diane Kruger at the Venice Film Festival

I'm obsessed with Diane Kruger's style. To me, she is the epitome of what a movie star should be- beautiful, glamorous, and just a little mysterious.
Today she attended the Venice Film Festival in this stunning Elie Saab Couture gown.
I love the crystal-embroidered lining and how its just visible through the overlay. Alone, it would have been too much with the embellishment on top but the skirt tones down the bling bling to something much more elegant.

Every time I look I see something I didn't notice before and fall in love with this dress even more!
Plus, I think Diane looks amazing in this nude/off-white color.

I do wish she had gone with a different pair of shoes but at least you can't really see the ones she has on!

September 2012 Fashion Obsessions...

Right now I'm feeling inspired by...

Lady-like outfits with soft, flowy bottoms...
natuka from stockholm streetstyle
(And everything about Natuka's style...)
Sasha P for Juicy Couture

Cool-mommy blog, The Glow...

The green Maja dress by DVF that Kate Middleton wore in Canada Kate-Tour-LA-DVF-Maja-Dress-2-shot
Freja's photobooth antics for Chanel Fall 2011!

I saw Nicki live when she opened for Britney a few weeks ago- and she was amazing! (But not as amazing as Britney, of course!)

The usual celebrity style suspects:
Ashley Olsen

And finally, my biggest September obsession, Violet Blonde by Tom Ford. I haven't even smelled it yet but I already know that I'm going to be buying it. But Laura Stone could sell me a potato sack skirt. 137563_1312387276
