Give-A-Ways got2b Dry Shampoo & Conditioner!

At this point, I think I've tried nearly every dry shampoo on the market.
Because, in theory, what could be more convenient than spraying your hair clean in twenty seconds flat?

For the most part, drug-store brand dry shampoos have left my hair more gummy and dirty-feeling making me desperate to shampoo the old-fashioned way. Plus, they often have overpowering scents and leave a white or chalky residue on hair.

When got2b sent me their Rockin' It! Dry Shampoo and Dry Conditioner, I was more than a little hesitant. I have to admit, I haven't used got2b a lot in the past. I associated it with college boyfriends using their "Glued" line for shaggy hair. But after giving their dry shampoo a whirl I have a whole new perspective on got2b.
I loved that Rockin' It has a citrus scent; Every time I swung my hair I got a nice little hint of lemon that gave me a cheerful boost. It also blended right into my hair (but keep in mine that I'm a blond) and I didn't  feel as though it was flaking out during the day. I don't know that it made my hair necessarily look all that cleaner but I had just washed it the morning before so it really didn't look dirty to begin with. It definitely soaked up any oils in my hair and felt really nice when I massaged and brushed it out.

You might be wondering: What the heck is dry conditioner? Basically, it's just Rockin' It's leave in conditioner. But this one does nicely compliment the Rockin' It dry shampoo and it definitely left my usually dry hair much softer and less frizzy.

Ready to try it out for yourself?
One lucky Bostonista reader will received a full-sized set of got2b's Rockin' It Dry Shampoo and Conditioner.

Girl Crush: Hanneli Mustaparta

One of my favorite personal style blogs is still Hanneli Mustaparta.

Since she's on every fashion guest list (even attending the Met Gala last month), I think it's fair to assume that I'm not the only one who adores her style!

You don't often see black and white photos from the style blog set in the summer so this one, of Hanneli in a $12 vintage dress, really stands out in the sea of bloggers!

She's really inspired me to start doing my own personal style posts, although I don't want that to ever be the focus of my blog, and thought it might be a good summer experiment.

What do you think? Should I take the leap from "fashion blogger" to "personal style blogger"?

HANA S Hair Dryer by Misikko Review

I have always had frizzy, unruly, thick hair.
Long before I started dying, bleaching, heat treating it- my dark blond hair was textured like a horse's mane.
I always envied girls with thin hair- it seemed so magically manageable.

I still haven't come to terms with my hair's natural shape, weight and feel.
But I might be getting closer to learning how to manage it thanks to the HANA Air S dryer.

A few years ago Misikko was kind enough to send me their HANA flat iron which has been a styling life saver so when they offered to send me the matching blow dryer last month I jumped at the chance to give it a try.

The HANA claims to reduce drying time up to 60% thanks to its motor, shape and tourmaline lined ceramic body. I have a lot of hair and with my old dryer it usually took about 35 minutes- with the HANA I've been clocking at around 20-25 minutes. Not a huge difference but it does help me out in the morning!

I was really pleased that the HANA includes a concentrated diffuser.
My stylist always uses one to dry my hair at the salon but I could never find one that fit my old blower. The diffuser definitely helps to get sections of my hair straighter and smoother than without one.

Another great feature is that the HANA allows you to control the power intensity and temperature used with three heat settings, two fans, and a "cold shot" to seal hair cuticles.

After a few uses, my hair is noticeably less frizzy. Stick straight? No, but that has much more to do with my lack of hair styling skills than the quality of this blow dryer. It is a professional quality blow dryer that works far better than my old, cheapo one from CVS. Plus, Misikko does an amazing job of packaging and includes a variety of free goodies such as nail files, a bottle of their shine serum, and a surprise or two!

I always use a heat treatment product before I apply any heat, especially important since I tend to go over my hair with my HANNA flat iron immediately after blowing it out with my dryer. It really helps give my hair a smooth, glossy finish.

A Celebrity Moment: Diane Kruger at the 65th Annual Cannes Film Fesitval

I was so excited when I heard that Diane Kruger had been selected to be on the jury for the 65th Annual Cannes Film Fesitval. She's the one starlet I can always count on to be daring, stylish and fun to watch.
So, I was thrilled at the prospect of having ten straight days of new Diane red carpet moments.

(Diane Kruger in head-to-toe Balmain)

Needless to say, from her "comfortable" judging style to her Hollywood glamour gowns, she didn't disappoint.
In fact, despite countless red carpets, premieres and parties with celebrities from all over the world, Diane was the best dressed throughout the entire festival.

I dare you to disagree!

(Versus dress paired with Jimmy Choo's "Katima" sandals)

(In a pink Calvin Klein)

(Jason Wu resort 2013 gown)

Events in Boston: A Sip in the Park

On Friday night I got a little dolled up for A Sip in the Park, at Fenway's EMC to benefit the Boston chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

I met up with my BBF (best blogger friend for those of you not in the know), Renata of Scorpion/Disco for the wine tasting, silent auction, and some style blogger posing.

I was truly honored to be invited to an event raises awareness and money for a topic that is still taboo in American society. Suicide and the depression that often precedes it affects millions of Americans and claims the lives of an estimated 36,000 a year.
